BenBhoy
hey all i think i'm right in thinking it's ileagal to bait with food for the intention of shooting the bird, i.e. putting out seed for pigeon. but what i want to know is, is it ok to put out carrion (a paunched bunny) and then put crow decoys around it,to look like they are feeding, then call in crows and shoot them? would it work? stubby
yes mate, the rabbit is ok, for some strange reason (well english law) its illegal to feed pigeons to shoot, but not corvids, yet it's illegal to use an electronic device on the corvids, show's how crazy the uk is, don't get me stated on pest control laws

HW682
Been covered on here a few times. It isn't illegal to use bait to shoot a bird under the General Licenses. Many or most don't agree with baiting pigeons but a lot will happily bait corvids. There is no difference in the law. Read the GL carefully yourself. I also have written confirmation from Natural England. Before anyone jumps down my thoat, I have never baited pigeons and am not encouraging anyone else to do it. I just like to understand what the law actually is - rather than what someone down the pub says. edit: just read it through and want to make it clear I wasn't having a dig at any other posters Edited December 23, 2011 by HW682
