tiercel
Having had a bird that was ill in the last few days made me think. Iwas lucky there was a bird specialist vet in the area. What happens if your ferret falls ill is there a vet in the imediate area that can, or is willing to handle the animal. I wanted a hob vasectomised and every surgery i rang said they know nothing about ferrets but would give it a go,not one of them could tell me if it should be done when the hob is in season or not. They seemed so hot to get my money that the practicalities of it went out of the window. The nearest vet that is a ferret specialist is in newport thats nearly seventy miles away. How do you fare in the vets stake. Cranfield
We are quite fortunate, this area is full of vets. One specialises in horses, but the others are "general practioners". There is also a proper Animal Hospital (not Rolf Harris type), about 8 miles away. I have never had problems getting dogs docked or ferrets (either sex) neutered. But, I haven,t required either service for some years and so things may have changed. One thing that hasn,t changed..........they still charge a fortune.
