killer rabbit (r1000)
i've noticed a couple of lists around containing currently missing or stolen firearms & airweapons (at least one such list is on this forum) , i am therefore placing a new thread for anyone to post any such lists so everyone can view them in one place. (can we get this pinned please?). hopefully, these weapons can then be found & we would have some peace of mind knowing that they are in safer hands. Cranfield
The sort of people that read these Forums are likely to check very carefully the provenance of any air weapons they purchase. If its a firearm being purchased, there are obvious FAC requirements. It is a good idea to bring to the members attention stolen weapons, but to "pin" a list is probably not a good idea. Apart from the fact it would become old news very quickly (the BTAS break in was 12 days ago), all members don't read "pinned" notices. It is best to post the information as quickly as possible, to alert members, that way it stays fresh and is sure to be read.
SNAKEBITE
Plus the fact it will ned to be constantly updated and changed.

(in my view , they should be recovered as soon as possible & by any legal means neccessary), & what is the point of having pinned messages if they're not going to be read? people should make the effort, it's not that difficult is it? i can undertand this if pinned messages cannot be edited, but could you include the option for whoever started the particular thread? SNAKEBITE
It is a good idea Killer' BUT it relies on people being diligent and looking at the list constantly. It ain't gonna work. People are like that, me included. I have the best intentions but , well ......................

No, I am not saying there is "a time limit in which these items can remain missing ?". I agree, "they should be recovered as soon as possible & by any legal means necessary". Its our experience, people do not always read pinned mesages, they rarely read any additions to them and then have to be reminded that they are there. I agree its not difficult to make the effort , but I'm just stating a fact. Let Admin consider if there is a sensible way to do this.
