Use beardo's decoy patterns , from the tips and tricks section. Edited January 25, 2012 by bakerboy
Cosd
Sit your decoys out on the flightline, as you would over any other crop. Use beardo's decoy patterns , from the tips and tricks section. Good advise from Bakerboy. Nicks' guide to decoy layout is an excellent base for understanding basic decoy patterns. Once you get to grips with what each layout is trying to achieve and how you expect the birds to react to them, you will then be able to modify your pattern accordingly to any given situation. The thing I was taught, and admittedly having a mentor next to me helped, was to watch the birds and their reactions. This is much easier to see obvious trends on a busy day than it is on a quiet one, but watching how the birds react to your pattern enables you to make tweaks to your layout that best suits that situation. Remember, every day is different, what works one day may not work the next; So the more you understand different layouts the better chance you have of creating a pattern the birds want to decoy to.
