Dangerous Brian
Hi all, I bought some Nobel .410 cases which came with 684 primers (Martigoni?) but the recipes I have are for Cheddite primers (CX50 and CX2000) with SP3 powder. Does anyone know what 'flavour' the 684 primer is and whether it can be used in place of cheddite primers without running into pressure problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brian
Floating Chamber
I use .410 cases primed 684 and CX50 and treat them as equals. Edit: However, the CX50 is SLIMMER than a 684 and is a loose fit in the 684 case. Edited January 26, 2012 by Floating Chamber
Dangerous Brian
Many thanks Floating Chamber. I found that problem with some once fired cases I was using. I read somewhere that the pocket could be closed back up with a bit of pressure applied down the tube. I used a metal drift and it worked nicely (I went easy so as not to overdo it). Thanks Brian Tecna powder is good for 14 grams and is VERY economical. I also get excellent results with CSB0 and 18grams of shot. Again, very economical.
