bighit1985
Hi, I am currently waiting for my shotgun license to come through, (Kent Police the black hole for license applications I'm sure)But am currently doing some target shooting with a club with a .22lr rimfire, they also do fullbore shooting but havent been able to go yet. So will be looking to apply for my section 1 once ive done the 6 months probationary period, but wondered while im applying for that whether it worth applying for FAC Shotgun and FAC Air, but what are the regulations on these/what are the requirements for them. What would they consider to be the 'need' of them??? cheers
steve_b_wales
To get my FAC shotgun, I informed the police that the land/s that I shoot over were being hammered with birds. This was backed up by a signed letter from one of the farmers. I was granted it with no questions ask.

Same with me - one thing to remember, apply for multi shot gun, not 5/8 shot etc etc as that is all You will get, keep your options open on your ticket

So they can grant a FAC shotgun by the amount of work needed on the land, backed up by the landowner. cheers Same with me - one thing to remember, apply for multi shot gun, not 5/8 shot etc etc as that is all You will get, keep your options open on your ticket so don't specify the number of shots the shotgun can hold?? just leave it open?? Don't specify the amount it can hold. I purchased a 5 shot, and then increased it to an 8 shot. I wrote on my application, 'Crop Protection' for reason to aqquire. Devon Fox
Its the same, dont specify anything, just fac air on application - I dont own or use one so thats as far as my knowledge goes, why do you need one? - thats your reason when you answer that one. steve_b_wales
For my FAC air rifle, I stated that I needed it for vermin control, in and around farm buildings and surrounding area.
