JR1960
We'll be up in Gunnerside for a few weeks during the summer and it'll be the ideal opportunity to have a few lessons and get my eye in again and get rid of the bad habits. And while I can have a relaxing day and not constantly having to look at my watch. So, anyone recommend a Shooting Ground that does one to one (well, one to two as it'll be me and the lad) in the area. Had a look at Warren Gill, which seems quite good, but there's nothing like a but of local knowledge.......... I don't mind travelling 30-40 mile radius but don't want to go too mad. 100milesaway
Marne Barracks see website Every Wed aft, and alternate Sunday. Worton behind the pub, not sure of opening times. Warren Gill is only open by appointment. Pen-y-gent again see website. Depending on the date you could join in on the alternate Wednesday night shoots in the summer at the Wensleydale league shoots from Auntie. apache
Warren Gill very very good but a little pricey! Worton is OK if you want to do DTL but no chance of any proper instruction. Thimbleby near Northallerton is testing and they do lessons, but never had one so can't comment http://www.thimblebyclayshooting.com/ Marne is ok, only place I've done skeet. Just a little intimidating driving onto the army barracks through the security and then let yourself out the back gate (really!) I'd say best to go first time with someone who's been before.
