Cake444
I have a Winchester SXP with a 28" barrel. Just a quick question really as think I know the answer. I wanted to cut it down to 24.5" because it’s a very long gun. It has a chrome lined barrel and my first thoughts (after legality) were would this chrome lining be an issue? Has anybody done anything like this before? Thanks again.

Cake444
won't your gun end up with no choke then Yeah that’s right, I usually use cylinder these days so it’s no problem. Edited March 6, 2012 by Cake444
bedwards1966
I've never done one but I can't see why the chrome would be an issue, the only thing that could be a problem would be rust where you cut it, but apart from that I don't see any problems. You may have to drill and tap a hole to put the bead back on, if you want one on.
BlaserF3
If you do shorten the barrel there will come a time when you wished that you had not. Cylinder choke is suitable for 25 yards or meters to you, which is really not very far. If you ever want to trade it in you will be offered very little money for it. Think it over and then forget the idea.

Think it over and then forget the idea. I imagine your right. The gun is practically worthless anyway though as I’ve done quite a bit of work on the receiver and for grip. I probably will end up leaving it as it is. Appreciate all the advice
