30-6
When using night vision is it best to leave it switched on when not up to the eye, or switch on and off ? I was out after rats the other night and planned a 2 1/2 hour stint, using a LIDL type monocular to watch and a scope mounted lamp to shoot. I was checking every 10 minutes, switching the NV on and off and shooting ( all two of them ) as they appeared. So my question is, is it better to leave the NV on continually or switch on and off ? Not thinking of battery life but more wear and tear of continous shutting on and off.
bennyblanco
On gen1 I used to flick on for a few seconds and then leave off until it started to fade, not sure if it helped with battery life or not but I doubt you will hurt anything. Higher generation stuff turns straight off so I can't do that any more.
