Am after some advice for photographing torch beams at night !

IE wanting to do a review on some torches but this is best done at night however i know photograpy in the dark is difficult at best esp when your working without the flash to see the beam of light propperly.

So what are the do`s and donts and any tips would be great.

Am only using a compact camera and only normally use it on auto mode ! the most adventurous ive ever been is turning the flash on and off !

Failing that or anyone local that could help me would be great ! :good:

To get a good night picture ie in the dark you will have to turn the camera to manual mode and adjust the shutter speed. You want the shutter speed set at a slow so it gives the camera time to take in the low levels of light. The slower the better. If you can adjust the iso put this on 400.

You can get thi type of photo on auto mode on some camers, but they will make all the lamps look to have the same illumination as the auto mode adjusts the exposure to give what it has been programmed to accept as being normal.
