letting the local police know your lamping

Recommended Posts

Picked up a new bit of land this weekend and the farmer specifically asked us to call it in to the police as there's an anti woman who adjoins the property who always calls the police when she hears people shooting. On signing in, i now hear there's a new number for the whole country - just dial 101 and it connects to your local constab non emergency number. I'd not come across that before.

Interesting, I thought that was just London!

Thames Valley was a local rate 0845 before but Surrey was a normal code!

We were told 101 is a national number

Its putting a lot of power in the hands of anti's if all it takes is 'a well meaning phone call' to ruin an evenings shooting and cost us all a fortune.

The police need a better way of responding to these things, surely the number they have attended which are legal would have caused them to think. Also one presumes they take the numbers of the callers? One hopes they check occasionally who has called them and from which areas - wasting police time comes to mind.

Talk about sledgehammers and nuts.
