rangey
went out yesterday morning with my mate rob on the vague hope of finding some pigeons to have a go at.we were in two minds as to even bother as you couldnt see more thane 20 yards in the fog.anyway we drove round for about 4 hours looking.the fog finally lifted about 12.30 and we found a field of rape that had a few pigeons on it and despite the bright sun and no wind decided that we would have a go at them.set up with 20 shells and a rotary.one or two started to show an interest but as they got near the rotary they just flared of.decided to pull the rotary in and put 2 turbo flappers out.what a difference.birds started coming into pattern and had 2 1/2 hours shooting for 35 birds.just goes to show its no good just sitting there if they are not coming in,get out and change things about till you get it right.. Why would you let bright sunshine and no wind affect your decision about setting up?
rangey
Why would you let bright sunshine and no wind affect your decision about setting up? the sun in your face tends to make you lose track of the birds and no wind to cover the noise a bit sometimes moves the birds out of the area.i usually have better days when cloudy and windy.i will shoot in any weather so long as the birds are there. Fair enough. Can't say i have too much of a preference, but i've tended to shoot my bigger bags in situations with little wind.
