southeastpete
Hi all. I'm thinking of buying a 2 stroke 125 trailie, but am just worried I'm going to end up with a bag of bolts. I've found a bargain. No tax or mot, but starts and runs ok, no knocking, no excessive smoking. They guy says the only thing is it doesnt come into the power band like you would expect. Is this just a case of running some engine cleaning stuff through with the fuel, or is it the sort of thing that generally leads to an engine strip and rebuild? If anyone has much experience of 2 stroke trailies, or the kdx in particular please put forward any suggestions. plus, how much would some serious engine work on something like that cost, the bike would only be 550, road legal, just no mot or tax. many thanks for any help Pete
SPARKIE
im unsure if the kdx had powerbands the kmx never did....the kx motocross bike does and if im right there about 30-40bhp the reason i say this is im sure the limit for cbt riders of 125 bikes are about 14.6bhp and most road going 125 bikes are aimed at people to ride on cbt. here it says there 15hp so id say it dont have power bands like its motox cousin.http://www.motorbikes.be/en/Kawasaki_KDX_125_2002.aspx just found my 02 rm250 has about 48bhp.
