barrie0
Hi, Does anyone know what size the 'O' ring is for the Maxus. I presume any rubber 'O' ring (from a bearing shop, etc)the correct size would do?
barrie0
Sorted, I found my digital calipers I bought from ALDI ages ago (knew they would come in handy some time). For reference - 26mm Inner Diameter (32mm Outer) and 3mm width/thick. Ordered a batch online.
TbirdX
You mean the one in the gas bracket?
coyotemaster
Sorted, I found my digital calipers I bought from ALDI ages ago (knew they would come in handy some time). For reference - 26mm Inner Diameter (32mm Outer) and 3mm width/thick. Ordered a batch online. is there a problem with them wearing out? I have never had to replace one on an autoloader. On some autos they appear to be graphite or silicone impregnated.
barrie0
It is the one in the gas bracket/barrel. Mine has a couple of small tear marks from when I have disassembled/assembled my semi auto (fairly regularly as I break it down to put in it's case when travelling to the farm/clay club) as it's a tight fit unless the gun is sparkling clean. Have got some nitrile o-rings coming which according to The Shotgun World forum should be fine. If not I can get some Viton O-rings which is the same material Remington 1100's o-rings use. TbirdX
Fair enough. Sometimes I have to give a little wiggle to get mine to part when it's dirty but it's not much and away she goes. Good luck, let us know how you get on with the new O ring.
barrie0
Will do. I have to admit to getting lazy on the cleaning front, 400-500 rounds before a clean! Although it still doesn't jam, but it is a bit harder to assemble with all the gas deposits until it's cleaned.
TbirdX
mines never had more than a 100 through it before a clean. Nothing to do with being anal, just that I only shoot twice a month and get bored inbetween so clean it to give me a reason to get it out again.
