Floating Chamber
OK. This is for 'Brian28'. My sketch, (which has been published before on P.W.) shows a simple copper tube/steel brazed fabrication atop a 6mm round bar which is screwed into a m/s footplate. The 'reservoir' is a baked bean can, and the whole assembly size is based around the height of the can and the nozzle height of the blowlamp. This simple one jet shotmaker saw some success in the 1970s. I purchased one and it proved very successful. One afternoon I made 37lb of No. 9 shot using one Camping Gaz cartridge. By today's standards it's pretty feeble because, as you have read, the likes of 'Sitsinhedges' and myself can make a hell of a lot more using a six or seven nozzle shotmaker! BUT, for the reloader using three or four boxes of shells a week, this would be a cheap and simple source of lead shot. We're looking for a member who may have access to one of these and to kindly publish the dimensions. 'Powderhorn' on here has already started 'tinkering'! Vince Green
I had one but binned it five years ago when my mother sold her house and moved into a flat. It hadn't been used for decades but was in a box of bits I had in the garage.
