Mungler
Okay, have found a new patch but it is near a very busy road. Without too much physics and speaking in broad terms, how far can 32g of No 6 shot travel fired from a 32" barrel of a 12g (assume an optimum angle with a wind behind it) - not talking about killing, stopping or anything like that, at what point will the shot rain down and hit the ground. Essentially, what is the "safe as houses" distance to shoot from the road to keep well out of trouble. Cheers all.
henry d
I believe the CPSA recommend 300yds/m so 250 in normal field terms would be an estimate as they will build in a safety factor. Is it pigeons your after or the black uns?

Its both. We set up at this spot the other day specifically for blackies and maggies, however, it was the pigeon equivalent of the M25. My farmer friend informs me that the field is likely to be harvested in the next 3 days, so it was going to be 4 of us, 2 spinners and a day off work - pre-booking a delivery to the game dealer. Oh yes, where's my manners, thanks for the yardage info.
