Thedeerman
I've been working for Thames Water today at Crossness near Thamesmead. They have a load of processing ponds for sewage treatment and i couldnt believe the ammount of birds living at the place! Dozens of Canada geese walking around like they own the place, sitting on eggs next to the roadsides. people were driving around them in the roads. Thousands upon thousands of feral pigeons flapping around the place. Ducks and moorhens galore. A fox trotted past, not at all bothered by the people around?? If I lived a bit closer I'd be tapping the managment up for sure!! Then on the way home on the M25, I drove past a field that contained at least 200 deer. It was near the A12 junction and nearly made me crash the van.
Blunderbuss
How many deer?! Finding that a touch hard to believe!
Brad93
How many deer?! Finding that a touch hard to believe! The field he is talking about is often full of deer especially when sunny. They are not threatened there as that field is either owned by a very conscientious farmer (I've never seen a crop on it in 15 years of living a mile down the road) or more likely the local park/council. It is close in proximity to South Weald, which has a lot of deer and a deer park inside. No chance of ever getting to shoot them deer legally. I would say the most I have ever seen there is 150+. Thedeerman
How many deer?! Finding that a touch hard to believe! Seriously mate, The field was jam packed with them, everybody on the M25 anticlockwise would have seen them at around 4pm. It looked far from natural! Blunderbuss
Fair enough, I'd have have done a double take if I'd seen that. Sounds like some serious 'management' needs to take place Edited April 16, 2012 by Blunderbuss

rubythedog
Without dought them deer will be well managed and end up in restuaruants and game butchers for miles around.
TaxiDriver
That field on the corner of the A12/M25 junction is the back end of Vicarage Woods and Lower Vicarage woods, not far from Weald Country Park at the bottom end of Brentwood. There is usually a huuuuuge number standing about or laying in the longish grass.
