Redgum
Hi, I have used the birchwood casey stock oil kit to great effect, this gives a satin finish but I want to achieve that dull oiled finish that seems to be in fashion these days. Is it just a matter of using a fine glass paper on the satin finish or is there a differant product to use that does a better job. My Tika 308 has a lovely dull finish but it seems more like a linseed type thing than a plastic based product.
malkiserow
Use some '0000'' wirewool carefully
Redgum
OK so you use the tru oil which leaves with a satin finish and you use a fine grade wire wool to take off sheen, wouldnt this leave the checkering valleys still satin, isnt there such thing as a low lustre finish to start with.
