Gimlet
Remove any loose dirt with a lens brush, a drop of lens cleaning fluid on a lens cloth to remove finger grease, blood, rainspots etc and a final wipe with clean lens cloth. The pre-impregnated lens tissues are very good but they dry out quickly once opened so you can only use them once. Useful to keep a couple in your pocket though in case you get a massive blood spot or something on your bins when you out. Personally I don't like lens pens. rwade545
Hi there, i personally carry a couple of lens pens in my camera kit. Used it all over over Africa on a number of different occasions and never scratched the lens with dust. Bfrush first then work from centre of lens outwards in increasing circles. Find it removes smudges better then the patches i used to use and as it uses graphite to clean it doesnt dry out. I think it its good enough for my camera lenses ( some costing me £1000s) shoung be ok for a scope and they are really handy to keep in a pocket. Just my 2 cents worth. I use lenspen originals bout £10 at a reputable dealer and lasts ages.
