Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
ey up pigeonwatch faithful. My cousin is interested in one the beretta a300 outlanders, i have done a search on here that has come up with some good positive feedback on these guns earlier in the year. Just wondering if a little farther down the line people are still happy with them. many thanks Ade
VicW
I have put about 2000 cartridges through mine now and not had a single problem. Regardless of Beretta's warning and instructions it cycled 28gm cartridges from the start and will cycle 65mm cartridges. The whole of the gas system stays much cleaner than the 391 and its predecessors and what muck there is is much easier to clean off. The wood responds very well to oiling. I realise that the Outlander is a field model but I only use mine for clay shooting and don't find the comparatively light weight at 7lbs to be a handicap. It is very easy on recoil. The sling point on the stock is easily removed,it unscrews,I plugged the hole. There plenty of original Mobil chokes on the market as well as after market ones,I use Briley extended. I definitely recommend the 300 Outlander and it's available for £760 at Derek Lee's in Lincolnshire. Vic.
Sandbank
Had mine since mid December. I echo VicW's comments, more forgiving of loads than Beretta suggest. 2500+ mostly 67mm 27g Hull Super Fast have gone through without a hiccup. Also, as above, beeswax and oil have started to make the rather dowdy wood look quite decent. The 1/2 choke that comes with the gun good for most targets. Have invested in a Teague 1/4 which works well on tighter layouts.
Berelli
I too have an A300 and i am really pleased with it, no problems and cycles with no faults. For the price it is excellent value, it does not look fancy but performs 100%.
