Capt Carrot
Evening all, I'm moving into the South Wales area shortly and intend to apply for an FAC. I already have my SGC with my current county, and have just been voted in as a full member of my local target club. (Gallery rifle &PSG) While in germany I gained my 'Jagdschein' (German hunters license, effectively an open FAC) I intend to get back into the hunting when I move and will be looking to gain some permissions, however I doubt I will be able to sort anything quick enough to put down land on my FAC application. How does South Wales view prior experience? And would I be able to apply for .22lr (gallery rifle) and .243 (target rifle) then get vermin/ foxes added? Effectively using the 2 rifles for both target and field? Anyone have any idea what their wait times are like? Oh and anyone interested in having me join them as an assistant on a shoot in the Llantwit/ Bridgend area?

steve_b_wales
Bridgend police headquarters will probably deal with your application. In my experience, they are one of the best to deal with it. They have dealt with all my applications/renewals/variations for over 20+ years, and I have always found them to be fair and effecient. There will be some members on here who will disagree, but I can only speak from my dealings with them. Give them a ring and ask to speak to the FEO for advice before applying. Good luck. If you are in the Bridgend area, we have a nice friendly club in Tondu if you fancy a bit of paper bashing..
Capt Carrot
Thanks gents. I shall try and speak to one of the FEO's, Funnily enough I just had an email back from the club president at Tondu! Will probably come up one Sunday morning for a chat and a look round
englishman-in-wales
Tondu is not a massive club, there is just over 100 members, but it's a nice friendly atmosphere and is a fountain of knowledge, if you venture down on a Sunday, Julian the membership secretary will no doubt be there, a decent guy and he'll give you run down of the club, hope to see you there mate...
