catcherpelt
Contacted Pelty and asked him if he would join me in a spot of river fishing on the river Ver, I was told that there were some good plate size trout spotted over the past couple of weeks, chess wading one section and the only fish seen were minnows not a good start, we move on to another river not to far away there appeared to be no life on the surface so i got up onto a fence to see f there was any bottom feeding fish i caught sight of a nice sized perch I decided to set up my river rod to free line some bread with 3 swan shot Pelty turned up with 2 small worms I told him to give it a go so that I could get my rig ready after 10 minutes with the worms pelty decided to move further up the river to continue with the fly fishing, now I was ready to fish. I drop in a baited hook of bread slowly bouncing the bread on the bottom allowing the flow of the river to carry the bait and within 2 minutes this beauty of a fish took the bread, at first i though Chub then I caught sight of golden brown and spots BROWNIE called to pelty to drop everything and help with landing as the river edge was reeds two meters deep, and not wishing to lose this battle played the fish and Pelty managed to land the fish, he first words were " you will not better this fish from this river again" , weight in at 3&3 quarter lbs Happy fathers Day.
