Stealth Stalker
My dog Becky went lame yesterday hobbling around on 3 legs, her rear paw on 1 of the digits is very inflamed she can't put any pressure on it and when I touch it she sqeals with pain. I've been bathing it in hot salt water & put some Savlon antiseptic cream on it. Where I exercise her the wheat stubble has just been cut I'm guessing she might have nicked it on a sharp shard. Has any one else experianced this & if so what's the procedure. I'm asking this now before I take her to the vets tomorrow. Cheers SS
lurcherboy
Stubble will make them raw SS. I always treat mine to walks at the seaside at the salt hardens them up nicely. LB
coupe312
potasium permanganate in a bowl of water, rise twice a day will cure any infection. unfortunatly will stain the paw for a cupple of weeks, but will stop all infection. whist the stain is there the stuff is working cheap a chips for the chemist about 30p for a small jar. word of warning though it stains everything

pavman
in the past i have had dogs get this from stopping fast on hard ground, if you walk them on a road or seafront prom or even hard ground lets say, and the dog runs around turning and stopping it shifts the pad from the top layer to the under (NTTF can explain better I am sure) anyway rest is the answer, its just like a blister for you and I, er hope this helps
