smokinggun
Hi Guys, I was hoping someone might be able to help me a bit please, i am having a problem with my over and under, recently every time i put two shells in and close it the bottom cartridge rubs the bottom edge onto the face just above the bottom firing pin hole grinding some off the shell, i have kept the ejectors clean and gave them a good cleaning and oiling and they seem to push down with no problems when closing the gun but something holds the cartridge out that little bit to far, Pushing the ejectors in by hand they go in all the way no problem, If i remove the barrels and lock the ejectors in first then put two shells in it doesnt happen until i come to reload! Im sorry i dont have my camera at the moment for any pictures but if anyone could give me a idea what could be wrong it would be very much appreciated
Harnser
A gun needs to lock up tightly and what you describe is not out of the way . Have you tried different cartridges .? If you look at most guns you will see a line on the breech face where the cartridge comes into contact with the breech face . Harnser . Hello mate thanks for the fast reply, yea i tried a few different types of cartridge but they all did the same, i only really noticed it about a week ago and it shaves a small bit off the bottom edge of the cartridge and leaves a few small shavings in the bottom firing pin hole, I dont remember noticing any cartridge with a grind on the edge before when using it although i do have a load of old spent cartridges in a bag i forgot to throw away at home so i will check them this evening. Sorry i just re read my original post and realised i completely forgot to also say that the ejectors also stopped firing the spent shells out they just raise when opened like my non ejector sxs, it will however eject when i remove the barrels and lock the ejectors into place. Thanks again for the help. Edited July 14, 2012 by smokinggun
