Sco77w
I have a beautiful Cocker bitch who is 5 in November. I took her in in May this year as someone I know needed to re-home her due to "personal" reasons and she has started to be aggressive towards other dogs. She started snapping at my 4 year old Springer bitch which has now turned into daily full on fights. She never bothers with my younger Springer bitch (7 months old) even though she will bite her legs and ears and try to pull her around the room by her back leg. Because of this I though it was a dominance issue between the older dogs. It has got that bad we left the cocker with my mother-in-law while we went away for a holiday (taking the 2 Springers with us) just to return to find she has attacked 2 other dogs while we've been away. I can't tolerate this behaviour and now wonder if this is the reason behind her having to be re-homed. can anyone give me any hints as how I can break this behaviour as the alternitive isn't going to be nice. Sco77w
what do you want to do with it at the end of the day sco77w my advice is to be hard with her, or do you want to rehome home her because it want be easy breaking her now. This is what we did as soon as she started showing signs of aggression. I make sure the dogs are not allowed to dominate anyone in the house, I (try to) keep them off the furniture and don't let them jump up at people. They sleep in their own room (built in the back of the garage). I don't think there is any danger of the boundries being blurred. I really would like to keep this Cocker but if she keeps up this behavior I won't be able to and I couldn't let her go to another home knowing she can be aggressive. If there is one up side to it, she hasn't been aggressive to anyone (yet) just other dogs.

lee-kinsman
Did you introduce her to the others dogs seperately. I got a English pointer when i was a lad, she was introduced to the wiemerahner in the house first and then the black lab who lived outside all the time. The EP never took to the black lab, the EP was found a new home. They were all bitches.
