was browsing through the edgars we bsite and look at stockists and found that 1 mile from my house is a rifle range, with 100 metres rifle, 50 metres rifle, with turning targets, both outdoors. then 25 metres indoor, and 10 metres indoor for air rifles. and they also do deer stalking courses. this is a find and a half for me. so when im in surrey i can use bisley(12 minutes), and when down here i can use this placebudleigh farm

cheers

Nice one Flash, I have been to Moretonhampstead and Chagford many times but I have never heard of that place.

Have you tried fly fishing at Fernworthy? I not sure if there is any water left in it at this time of year, but when it is 'on' it is great place to spend and evening - especially if you buy a disposable barbie to stick the trout on as they come out of the water.

took the CZ511 to the new range today to get used to the range and for the owner to check we are safe enough to shoot un supervised by him. although it was only 25 metres we were using cci minimags and they are know for their innaccuracy, but i still managed a five shot group in under a 5 pence grouping, i was really impressed with this. also saw this very impressive anschutz biathlon rifle, that he customizes himself for hunting, beautifully balanced and the trigger feels perfect. only £400 as well. gonna see if i can have a shoot with one tomorrow. also the guy who owns it is really nice and certainly knows what he is talking about.

also had a look at the 100 metre and 50 metre and they are in my opinion better than the siberia ranges, although the target changing isnt as easy.

cheers

Flash, one of those biathlon Anschutz's you describe is owned by a local keeper I know. He bought it because he wanted a gun he could carry on his back when driving the quad and not have it slide around when ever he went round a corner. The stiff leather rucksack-esque straps really are usefull and when you learn the method for mounting and dismounting it, it is very quick to get on aim from being on your back.

By the way, did they sell ammo there as you asked?

Edit: And could you post a brief synopsis of rifles available to hire there when you come back tomorrow?
