Phoned the farmer on the Wednesday and he said I could shoot the Saturday over a cut field of rape...picked up my mate and turned up nice and early to make the most of our first outing over stubble in 5 years...watched the field for an hour and set up by 8 in a perfect little spot...the birds where about but nothing seemed interested so moved a few things about by 9 we had had one shot to no success then all of a sudden half hour later it started going our way and had 10 down in as many minutes, a few shots later and we where stopped in our tracks as a shogun came tearing across the field....guns down we went to see what the problem was and was confronted by a very angry game keeper asking us who had given us permission! It turns out the farmer hadn't informed him and he had arranged for him and a few guns to shoot the field Sunday, after a sincere apology we swapped numbers and where also invited to shoot with them the following day.

 

So Sunday morning all the guns meet at 10 and we are introduced to every one there where 5 of us in total and we where placed under a oak tree on an adjacent cut field of rape...where set up by 11 and within 2 minutes had downed my 1st followed by my mate a few mins later...by 2.30 we had 39 birds layed out in front of us then my friend had to go taking his car bat for the magnet with him...once the magnet had stopped the birds didn't seem as committed...by the end of the day at half 6 I had a total of 52, I drove round to meet the other guns which had all shoot very well and we ended with a total bag of 250!....

 

I swapped a few numbers and by the sounds of it I will be able to shoot with them again and also learnt a few new tricks from all the guns as they have a lot more experience than myself, all in all an awsome weekend had a very big thanks to all
