spanielboy
I have pet plan. Not cheap but in my opinion I wouldn't be with any other!
-Mongrel-
I would advise you to omit mentioning that it's a working dog if indeed it is, they may well refuse you or jack the premiums right up!
malantone
if you infer that your pup will be an active shooting dog, even if it`s only now and then, the premiums will be through the roof, there is no distinction between professional and amateur dogs, it`s totally unfair. Personally I don`t have insurance, but thats my risk. Edited August 13, 2012 by malantone
silver pigeon 3
I am with pet plan and the question of whether my dog is going to be a working/shooting dog has never arisen. It only stipulates that the dog insured must not accompany me to work, and as my shooting is a hobby i am not breaching this rule.
wulliewinky
thanks fellas, like most on here it will be 95% pet but will come out with me when shooting pigeons & rabbits, how much you looking at a month with petplan ? ferguson_tom
Mine are with Sainsburys on their Option 2, i havent had to claim on it yet fortunately but it seems a good cover for the money. I didnt tell them my springer is going to be a shooting dog as the premiums go up and apart from being shot in the field there is no way they can know she picked up an injury on a shoot rather than walking through the woods. silver pigeon 3
thanks fellas, like most on here it will be 95% pet but will come out with me when shooting pigeons & rabbits, how much you looking at a month with petplan ? My lab cost's me about £24 a month but that takes into account the multi pet discount, different breeds are different prices. I have claimed 4 times with various dogs for different things and every time it has been dealt with very efficiently. Probably over £2500 in total.
