danco1987
http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/model.pl?model_id=207 its a Benjamin Sheridan CB9 Blue Streak pump rifle the same version which is available in the UK? it states 675fps (but it probably doesnt do that with most pellets), and with an average .20 that is still below the UK 12fpe limit? from this site you can ship to the UK and it works out at £120 incl worldwide postage. Which is about £50 cheaper than getting one in the UK. danco
Dead-Eyed Duck
Had a Benjamin many years ago, and I don't think that they have changed much since then. The one that I had incorporated a poor scope rail, and so you couldn't even fit a decent scope with any confidence. Pretty crude finish, and the latest pneumatics have made pump-ups obsolete - unless you like to strengthen your biceps! All that pumping does make your arms tremble, and so you can forget a quick accurate 2nd shot. As far as I can remember accuracy was only OK. At the time there weren't too many makes of 0.20 pellets about. I would suggest that you save your money and buy something better. Unless you want to have something different and you want to be the talk of the town - for about an hour!!! Don

clone
but in answer to your question its not illeagal to import from the states but you will have to pay import tax and vat on your purchase when it arives in this country which will make it moore expensive - dont forget that mr blair wants to take a cut - and it will take about 4 weeks to get here
roblade
personaly i wouldnt like to be the person to import a rifle from the states, its quoted as being 645fps .20 so even with a heavy weight pellet and without going into figures im fairly certain thats within the UK legal limits. You said it would be about £120 in postage, so if it gets caught for customs thats about £20, then you have to pay tax which is approx 20% so that would bring it to £164, so for the sake of a few quid saving it really wouldnt be worth the hassle of importing a firearm into the UK from the US, yes i know technicaly its not a firearm, but for legal reasons its classed as a firearm. if you want to save money, why not buy second hand? i have seen a couple of these at the club and a few in the sales sctions on variouse forums. danco1987
o ive imported two air rifles and loads of parts before from the states, no problems and never been charged extra. Imported a crosman 2289G pump rifle approx 10ftlbs and a crosman 1377 air pistol. Thye were from private sales though, so is it because this is a US business which is selling to the UK market which will mean that i will have to pay tax? Theere are lots of ways round the import tax, but as its froma store its harder to bypass the laws, not to mention that if its down as £50 (inc shipping) and it goes wandering in the post you will only get back £50. Just curiouse but if you have bought loads of things from the states including TWO RIFLES and a pistol why the heck ask for this advice??? danco1987
well the rifle and pistol i bought were clearly under the legal limit. The sheridan pump rifle looks quite close to the limit and its from a company in the US and ive never bought a good from a business before. Also i thought there'd be no harm in making sure, isn't that what this airgun forum is for mate!

ROB Not to mention the fact that evading tax/duty is a criminal offence. Oh, and second hand goods most certainly DO attract import duty/VAT. I wanted to know if this gun would be illegal to import regarding its power setting?
