Ok for a mooch, trade stands were a bit 'same old, same old'. It's local to me and I think its got a good atmosphere. It's a proper game fair with a real field sports focus. BASC, NGO, CA, BDS and others were all there, clays, punt gun demos, pigeon plucking comp for the kids etc. Point being its not a glorified village fete which ignores country pursuits like some 'country fairs' -the Cotswold show for example. Having said that, the line up and exact position hasn't changed one iota in the last 5 or 6 years I've been going, and probably a lot longer than that. It would be nice if they changed it a little every year. Some of the food and drink prices take the ****, unless you spot a mate off PW manning a food stall :) Some minor gripes, but I'll be there next year :good:

Edit: Oh yeah, traffic management leaves a little to be desired! I'll let activeviii fill you in on the details

I took the wifes car (well she had taken mine to go up north) and whilst watching the grass grow at the side of the road her radiator overheated. Took an hour to go 2 miles and that was with both road lanes switched to a one way system. Each time I go it annoys me and it doesnt get any better. As has been said, a proper game fair but could have done with one or two decoy type stalls instead of the dozen hat sellers.

I live in Frampton and if anybody is coming next year send me a pm and i can tell you a really quick way in, with pretty much no traffic (that's why i won't put it as a post)

It was a good show again, but as stripey999 says it really does need a few shooting/angling retailers to come on board. It is a shame as the show rings are really country based, but the retail side lets it down.
