Simple FUD sticks that work

I've been meaning to post this for a while as I've had a few people ask. No responses back from anyone to see how they got on so that could be an indication that they're rubbish  but I like them and they've served me well for a Few months so far.

I've made some very simple sticks for the FUDS using 1mm metal rod (welding rod in my case).

I've already made 300mm and 500mm ones, and just got some more rod to make 1000mm ones so I can set up on various length crops.

Firstly I cut away about 1cm of the red metal stakes on the FUD's in the middle, this way I could remove them but could put them back on if need be.

I then cut the metal rod to the desired length and put a very simple bend at the top using two sets of pliers. The picture below shows the bend next to a £ trolley token to give you an idea of scale.

The U bend is inserted either into the centre rivet where you can set the FUD to face any direction you want, or if placed into the neck rivet, the bird will always turn and face into the wind.

The longer the rod the more bounce movement you get.

Here is a short video of it with the 300mm rod. Excuse the voice over, I made this video to send to my mate Denny some time back...

Cheap to make and took me all of about 30 minutes to make 24 of them.

Hope this helps someone....
