fruitloop
mig tips do work but thay get stuck and you end up drilling them out also they stop working with the slightest breeze as copper conducts heat fast and looses it fast to
brian28
Will welding the angle square and having the whole lot at 30' work? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cut the end of channel 12degree then weld angle to it sorted. trouble with channel heating and cooling causes it to rust fast. sitsinhedges
Better than the last lot What size holes are in the drippers? Were you making this inside or outdoors? The swan shot with tails is usually because there is a burr at the bottom of the ramp and they catch as they leave then hit the coolant and freeze. Do a pic of your set up. fieldwanderer
I'll get a pic tomorrow or whenever I use it next I was using it in the garage, with the door open. there's no burr, the lead stuck to the ramp and when I brushed it off I left a spot with no copper grease - which just made it worse and I couldn't get it to stop dripping! lol I'm not sure what the hole size is, I've lost my micrometer, I'd guess at below about .75mm The next step for me is to mount it on an electric hob I think and possibly find some stainless angle to replace the mild I've used for the ramp

On a cooler day the ramp wont stay hot and you will get blobs on the ramp. You could try playing a blow torch on the ramp and see what happens. I know we still need ventilation but you could try shutting the garage door for now.
fieldwanderer
that's the conclusion I came to, I'll have another go with an electric hob when I get one and with the door closed
