pin
Went out for a mooch for an hour, fancied giving the s400 an airing. Wandered into one field 150yds away I can see mr hoppy bolting already :look: Resigning myself to the fact that it was a reasonable evening and at least I wasn't in the house I sat down 40 yds from a big bury I have taken some good sized bunnies from in the past. 20 mins and out pops a smallish one, I decide to leave him alone and sure enoug out comes a good sized buck. Crosshairs on him, decide its about 38 yds, slightest touch of holdover, go to squeeze the trigger and I sneezed Ah well, I decide to wait as I had been dreaming of spicy cajun rabbit for my tea waiting for that one to come out. 25 minutes later out comes the same big buck, a little further out. I watch him for a few minutes and he starts jumping about and kicking, I know he's feeling comfortable. I am starting to really loose the light here so its this shot or nothing. Line him up, estimate 45 yards, perhaps a smidge more. Very slight wind from my right but I am lying prone along a hedge line. Minute smidge to the right, estimate the holdover and pop, two twiches and he's over. Hit him smack on the money between the eye and the ear. Paced it out to 44 yards so I was happy with that, I am starting to get attached to the little .177, very confidence inspiring. Sorry about the quality of the pic, its off the phone. Lovelly condition this one was in, fantastic pelt on him.
