lesdogger Posted October 7, 2012 Report Share Posted October 7, 2012 Had a lovely day yesterday, I phoned Ritchie my shooting buddy at 12 noon, and we decided to have a stroll over our local pemission. We didn't expect much to happen, so we agreed to just take the guns and a dozen shell deeks.we started off in a copse on some high ground,with wheat stubble on one side, and barley stubble the other. We stayed for about half an hour with no joy, and not bird in sight. Anyway I decided to get the bins out and look at some more stubble across the road, there must have been close to a thousand birds there. So off we went walked over. No nets , no poles , no seat. We just took guns the deeks and 2 boxes of ammo each. We just put the deeks out any old how, and buried ourselves in under a tree, and hoped for the best. Well it did'nt take them long to start, there were a constant stream for the next 3 hours, coming in from all directions, decoding nicely. Even managed a nice couple of left and rights for a change. We ended up with 56 for 80 shots.we had to stop shooting as I had to go home and get ready for work. Top couple of unexpected hours out, and good company as well.
