jam1e
It's a .223, I intend on putting plenty down the range before taking to the fields just to get used to the gun and how it works. Just about to buy a Lee Loader to hopefully knock up some homeloads for it. Very nice indeedy! I went ahead and bought a .204 Ruger CZ 527 recently, only to realize ammo is order in only and well over a £1.00 a round! So i've just bought my Lee 50th Anniversary reloading kit. Just waiting for the dies to arrive! According to people with better knowledge than me i should be able to drop the price of my rounds by 50% Time will tell?? Livefast123
Colin, I've bought both my guns from Steve at Ivythorn and I can honestly say that it is a really decent shop that treats it's customers right even though they are very busy and understaffed. I arrived at 1 to look around the show room and there were already 2 blokes there buying expensive Sauers. After deciding what I was going to buy we took the guns and Steve and Shane fitted the scopes etc to the guns while we waited and then we took the guns up to range and put some rounds through them. I felt no less importent to them than the guys buying guns worth 000's and dealing with 3 customers (4 guns) at once is no mean feat. I even recieved a thank you email later in the day. Don't tempt me with a new stock already, I have to save my pennies for some .223! I don't intend to make a lot of rounds so the handloader hopefully will be ok for me and at £25 it's not a lot to lose. Livefast123
The Howa was already screw cut but I had the CZ 511 screw cut and shortened from 20" down to 14" and it was a really good job. The machine work looks precise and the thread feels well cut, the SAK doesn't seem to have any problems with it. It's Neil McKillop as far as I know who has an excellent rep.
