Well managed to get out for my 1st morning flight today.

Blime it was a bit on the foggy side.

I think every type of bird flew over me or landed close to me except the ones i can shoot....even the dog was looking at me as if to say what the hell are you doing....lol

Anyway set myself just back from the mouth of the pill and after a few hours wait i had a couple of mallards come into the pill.

Brought the drake down stone dead but i hit the hen and she came down but then dived and no matter what i could not find her....hate it when that happens, i should of put the third shot into her, but i knew i hit her as she dropped like the drake did..

Walking back after i had finish shooting i heard a honk, just managed to get the sling from around my kneck when two canadas flew pass in perfect distnce of me and as i watched them fly away, they went straight over where i had been sitting for the last 3 hours...the joys of wildfowling.

Out again this evening carrying out a taster flight so may see a few more ducks and geese.

Anyway the mallard is very large so i should have some good duck breast for tomorrows tea..

had a good evening flight as i took a guy out on a taster flight.

No geese spotted but just as it got dark managed to call the wigeon in.

The guy i took had a good few shots but did not make any contact until i brought down a nice hen bird...dropped like a stone over my head but i did have the big boy cartridges loaded..

so not a bad day, feeling a bit tired but shot more today then i did all last season....

just want to get under the geese

Do you carry out the taster flights on behalf of GWA?

I applied previously, but have not heard back from them as yet.

Cheers

Yes i organise them but first your request goes to Matt on the committee who forwards them on to me etc, i expect he will forward through this week.
