dazzyboi
300 acres of land, but still not 100% what im looking for, its mainly rabbit terratory, lots and lots of rabbits..He is growing 4 fields of barley though which is a plus, but 2 of them are by roads, which could become a pain. There is also 3 fields at the back, right next to the woods, these are just plain grassy fields..Could this still be used for roost shooting?? njc110381
You can use the woods for roost shooting if they are part of the land you have permission to shoot . If they are somebody elses, you can't, as your rounds (whatever you are firing) cannot cross the boundry legally. It sounds like a really good shoot to me, what exactly is it that you are looking for? You should have plenty of chance at birds. If you cannot roost shoot, try any large trees in the hedgerows that they may stop in on the way past. Loads of rabbits, sounds like a great shoot to me! Nah its within his boundaries...The woods are behind me so the only thing that will be going in there is the pigeons crash landing (hopefully)... It is a very good piece of land but im more of a decoying person these days..Still plenty of rabbits though..I have seen pigeons and crows flying about, but not as many as i would have hoped..WIll have to get down there for some roost shooting then,,,

njc110381
It's surprising what a bit of effort can get you isn't it! I was unsure of approaching landowners at first, but when I got my first shoot it was so simple! You have 4 fields don't you? Should be enough to get some decoys down on. One good plan I had is to ask the farmer to pass on your details to any of his mates that have pest trouble. That way they hear about you from somebody they trust, and farmers do seem to stick together.

njc110381
Don't pigeons like clover? You may be able to decoy them on the pasture when there is less food available later in the year.
