MG6065
Ive just been given the chance of buying either a cz semi auto 22 or a bolt action 22 with out screw cutting off a family friend. Are the semi cz's good ?? Also how much does if cost to screw cut a cz 22? Cheers

steve_b_wales
CZ's are brilliant. Threading the barrel varies from RFD to RFD, but I pay/paid £25. I would advise getting the bolt action.
MG6065
Get the bolt action and get it threaded, that's what I'm thinking of doing, the bolt action is £150 with scope so extra but on top wouldn't be end of the world

Livefast123
I suppose it depends what you need it for.....targets, vermin or both I have the CZ 511 semi which I have had shortened down to 14" and screwcut. I use it for rabbit control on my uncles farm and also use it for target shooting at the range. It's accurate and does what it says on the tin. The bolt action will be slightly more accurate and with work will have a better trigger but will do exactly the same job. Being CZ they'll both last to the end of the world so either would be a good choice. bedwards1966
Unless your target shooting, I'd strongly suggest the bolt action. Quieter, more accurate and easier to use safely in the field, and plenty quick enough with a little practice. Threading varies between about £30 to £120 depending on where you go, and whether you want it proofing as well (not a requirement unless your selling it on). CZ's are great guns, they are simple, cheap and reliable. Great value for money.
