Crayfishing for the PW Butchery Night

I'm keen to organise a meet for anyone who is interested in going crayfishing, but they must also be booked on the butchery night, or we'll have half the forum turning up. (Exception given to anyone who's been there before ;) )

I'm proposing Saturday 24th and a start of, let's say, 10:00 ish.

The date is quite critical, as it gives us time to get them to the restaurant for purging and cooking. As anyone who's cooked them will know, it's no easy job preparing them and probably not what the chefs want to be doing at the last minute.

Location: Anyone confirming their attendance will get the location by PM. As I'm sure you know, prized fishing spots are kept quiet, so for now, East Hertfordshire is the location.

Nets: People will need to bring their own nets. If you want to buy some, eBay is your best bet. They've gone up in price a bit, but this is what I use.

Bait: Rabbits rabbits rabbits. If anyone can bring whole bunnies, that would be great. Other than that, fish and bacon will suffice.

Buckets: If you can please bring a plastic container (storage boxes are good (check it's waterproof!)) or a large bucket.

Wellies: It can get muddy.

Clothing: Wrap up warm. Please don't come cammo clad, it's fishing, not pigeon shooting.

Given that the waters will be cold, I'm not holding out for a record catch, but we'll do our best!

Terry can't make it, but he's said we're good to use his fishing patch. I'm sure he'll also back me up when I say that it's a good idea to bring your kids..!

I don't have my Landy any more, so if there's a big catch, I may need someone to help me deliver the critters to the pub.
