take em Posted November 9, 2012 Report Share Posted November 9, 2012 Hi everybody,i want to take my game gun upto aberdeen when i go goose decoying and have a day with it.its a nikko 2 3/4" chamber with 3 1/4 tons per square inch proof mark on it,will i be able to fire mini magnums though it.i've got some victory shells which say on the box gun must be magnum proofed and sum fiocchi which say 1050 max bar.any advice welcome. TJ91 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Share Posted November 10, 2012 i used to have a gun with that marked on the barrels, never had any problems firing magnums, no 3 loads (think they were eley cartridges) this from a conversion calculator - 1 050 bar = 6.798 643 969 2 ton/square inch [long] ask a gunsmith/dealer if your in doubt, better to have a professional opinion on something like this! Kes Posted November 10, 2012 Report Share Posted November 10, 2012 Wise to take your cartridge manufacturers advice too - choose your cartridge and ring them - its very powder specific as the early 'magnums' were 'slow burn' with lower pressure than todays magnums.
