  1. Compared to down here I don't think there is many at all. Have never seen great numbers when I have been up aberdeenshire... i have been up many times Compared to down here I don't think there is many at all. 2. Any of the cheap meat paste..spread it thin on a bit of wood.
  3. I will take cartridges when offered them but would never ask for them. Plenty of people would gladly shoot for no payment so asking for any form of payment will more than likely lose you permissions.
  4. Seems i am a very poor shot compared to most on here haha
  5. I hav used plenty of the kent velocitys and majority hit are dead in the air..pigeons, crows, pheasant, cartridge and duck They are very good cartridges!
  6. Can I ask why you transfered the guns to a friend? It's more hassle and no need to do it!
  7. Not really noticed anything that looks ready for cutting yet..2 weeks I should think
  8. Shoot just east of york...atleast 2week before anything will be cut
  9. It is wrong, i pick up what I can and make use of them. But.... its pest control. A dead rotting pigeon in a field is better than a live hungry pigeon chomping the wheat (in a farmers eyes)
  10. Oh right, yes i know there isn't.The steel is easy for me to get my hands on, local smith has plenty in at a good price so i will stick with it for now. I don't use the ten a lot so I find sticking with one cartridge a good idea..changing guns AND ammo all the time would throw me off nd make me worse shot than I already am haha
  11. Yes pal you can... I use the Remington nitro steel for all my shooting with the 10bore.. its a good cartridge and my ten throws it in great patterns...I like to find a cartridge that works and stick with it. I will only use approx 100 cartridges a year through it at the crows..its just a nice change from the 12 now and then.
  12. I have taken myne out a number of times since feb, shooting crows that fly over my permisaion very high up on ther way to roost..Remington nitro steel is no match for them. I helps keep my eye in with the ten and I just enjoy shooting it. Sound idea using on fox drives, a better pattern at distance can only be good...but saying that..a fox is not hard to kill.
  13. I use guns but don't know a great deal about them to be honest and have never come across this problem before I hav an old s/s that I very rarely use, won't part with the gun though as I was gifted it by someone very close to me so still use it for 'specialoccasions' It was put in the cabinet in march after a thorough clean and oiling Have just taken it out to give it another clean and to admire it (sad, I know) The problem i have is when i 'break' the gun the cartridge raiser/extractor bit isn't coming up..its staying flush with the barrel..so if I were to use it I wouldn't be able to easily take the cartridges out. It is a non ejector btw. I have not oiled it well enough? Is it a case of wd40 to loosen it or is something worn/broken? Any help would be hugely appreciated I am gutted..polite way of putting it! So do hope its an easy fix.
  14. Have had some very good days shooting rooks on oats, drillings, laid and stubble! Not really a great deal of pigeons though
  15. Crops are alot better on my perms than last year. Had a bad start but have dug in and got through nicely now. Won't be as much straw as usual bit that's down to 'shorteners' not weather A good few deep ruts left from spring so may be a bumpy ride for the combine which usually results in abit of spilt grain..bring on harvest
  16. Atleast 3 weeks away on my perms..and that would be with perfect weather!
  17. I often use just 12-20 shell or full body decoys and a glider/floater. Ther are ao many gadgets on the market these day..all 'must haves' that I manage good bags without A bit of scrum net and a few hide poles (equine electric fence stakes) also come in handy All the decoys and gadgets in the world won't give you a chance of a good bag if your in the qrong place. My advice is...learn how to do proper recon, learn about flightlines and habits (if youhavent already)
  18. A fine gun..been on my wish list a long time. Santa hasn't sent me one yet though!
  19. I had a side by side with 25" tubes. Regret selling it..the best hide gun I ever had. Remember a semi is longer than and o/u or s/s with same length tubes
  20. Can't seem to get them to send via email or load onto gunwatch!? At 150 u cany go wrong though. Its not immaculate as it has been well used but its worth 150 alday long and wil stil be worth that after another few thou shots!
