How do you guys find this load? I was going to buy some in BB in 10 gauge for the geese? Does anyone know of anywhere with it in stock in scotland? Ideally a shop in glasgow but im not holding my breath. John Forsey has them for sale at £29 for 25 which doesnt seem too bad? I'm guessing it would need a courier rather than just posted?

Cheers!

Cheers! I thought BBs might be a better shout as they would hit harder? Was considering getting some 2's for ducks?

Out of interest what is the difference between Nitro steel and sportsman. I notice the sportsman is much cheaper than the nitro,(only in 12g mind!).

Anyone else use either? Anyone know of a stockist in Scotland?

Cheers!

Nitro use a zinc coated pellet and use alliant steel powder in sure thus giving better velocity

The sportsman Are not a great shell with poor velocity so don't waste your money and less injuring of birds !

The bb out of a 10 bore in a load of say 1 1/2 or 1 3/8 will pattern good and will have a little bit more energy than the number 2

What gun choke combination are you using ?

There isn't alot to offer for the 10 gauge but if I didn't load my own I'd have no option but to use remi nitro depending on the load should be around 1400 plus FPS

The spotsman is a lighter load the ones i have in 12g have a higher stated velocity than the nitro steel in the same calibre. I should use BB or bigger in 12g super magnum or 10g. I have had a few fail to eject on the 12g auto as the fired length is longer than the 3 1/2" gamebore. Nitro steel BB is what i use in the 10 bore currently it penetates 12mm best ply at 50yds and patterns very well out at this range through 1/2 choke, the 12 g BB wont do this BTW patterning worse and impacting with less velocity but i have killed some tall geese with them non the less

What is the actual load ? 1 3/8 etc?

If you buy a box of nitro and sportsman of the same load and put them through a chrono there is only one winner

Stated velocity on sportsman 1550 is actually around 1350 they are a poor shell
