poppythedog
After several weeks of daily oiling I have my gunstock almost looking as I want it, my question is how long should I leave the stock before starting to wax polish it and does anyone have a secret recipe for a polish? Thanks Mike
the last engineer
never bothered to wax the stocks of mine, the opil finish is good enough, anytime out in the rain or drizzle i clean and apply another coat to soak in, once a year they get the start of the season finish, some others may disagree but mine have been good for a number of years now Martin
BobGee
Let the stock dry for at least a couple of weeks then treat it to a good coat of CCL's "Fine Wax Polish",you can get it from most gunshops in little tins like kiwi shoe polish. A good coat of this stuff will keep the stock dry through the wetest days and it never blooms or goes sticky.
