Fib new
For my waterfowling and decoying I shoot an old browning gas operated semi auto. Gun works fine, but after al the use and abuse it's starting to get à bit old. I'm looking at à new one, and like the old style browning auto5 recoil operated semi for the looks. Can anyone shed some light wether or not à recoiloperated semi is good or not. Are they reliable compared to gas optater ones?
Breastman
As long as you're feeding them decent strength cartridges, and as you'll be using it for fowling i presume you will be, they are every bit as reliable as gas. More so if you're not a fan of cleaning guns. Some people complain that recoil/inertia guns recoil too much, but i'd suspect those people wouldn't want to get their pink suede loafers wet waterfowling anyway
BerettaSV10
Had both types of recycling guns and did not notice any difference on the recoil, yes gas may take a bit longer to clean and like all s/a's some are more cartridge fussy than others, some like my benelli would cycle what ever you put through it. Down to personal preferance on which gun suits you the best.
Fib new
Thanks guys. Only planning to use it for pigeon, crows and waterfowling, so I should be ok with it then.
