Lampwick
I'm going to have a go at putting together a knife for general use and am rather taken by the look of Damascus! I recognise "it's all in the steel" but wondered if any of you had any thoughts or experience re this? http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?P_ID=6536&strPageHistory=related Hope the link works! I know I could get a straight steel blade cheaper but my question is twofold; Would this pattern be ok for general use or would you suggest an alternative? Is the Damascus blade worth it? I'm sold on the looks! Lampwick
Dunkield
I think it looks great, go for it, stick some pictures up of the build if you do.

Will do not much to lose if it goes pear shaped! Ive got some seasoned cherry in the garage I'm going to use for the handle, whatever happens it will keep me out of the way! I have the outlaws up over Christmas!!!!!! Lampwick
