ruby2red
Does anyone know how much money has been allocated to clay shooting for the 2016 Olympics and what it cost for the gold medal by Peter Wilson in the 2012 Olympics, cost against funding. I'm sure it's peanuts against the 2 million quoted for other disciplines for a gold medal.
TrapFiller
3 million http://britishshooting.org.uk/news/title=Funding_Boost_For_Shooting&d=
Diceman
Not sure what it cost exactly, but pre 2012 Olympics Wilson was funded mainly by his coach when the lottery money dried up after 2008. I think British Shooting covered his travelling expenses for the last couple of years but I guess that was in the thousands rather than the millions. shaun4860
You also have to remember that "shooting" covers pistol/rifle/shotgun so its still not a huge amount
BerettaEELL
I am sure the funding is as generous as the coverage. I watched Peter smoke those clays in the knowledge that he made it look far to easy. They should have shown the qualification rounds so that non shooters could get some idea of how tough it is.
