Dougy
You can get lighters that are designed to smoke open sights to eliminate glare. You could take the sunshade off and smoke it so the sut stops it reflecting light. Baffled me on that one Frenchie, try a little tape over the bottom 1/3 -- 1/4 of the lens. I tried a sunshade 8inches long plus, but still could not get rid of the glare, the only thing that sorted it was a little tape over the end of the scope. I am sure i told you before it may have been a while ago though. Picture below showing the scrunch just in front of the scope, it just needs a little puffing up a little before use, then check before battle Edited December 22, 2012 by Dougy
Frenchieboy
Thanks for your most recent post Dougy. The photo helps make a lot more sense of it all as I was a little puzzled as to if the scrunchy went near the scope or up against the moderator. Now I can see it on the photo it all makes sense as it would have a similar effect to using some black tape on the lower third of the object lens. p.s. I have moved the lamp back as close to the eye piece as possible and this, along with some looser wrapped camo bandage on the moderator has lessened the problem. As soon as I have some dryish weather after dark I will see how it looks with a piece of tape over the bottom quarter to third of the sunshade or hunt through the bathroom for one of the wifes black scrunchies. Many thanks to all for their advice and tips! Edited December 22, 2012 by Frenchieboy

Novel idea, but they work great at eliminating glare. ATB
