Browning GTS
Happy bunny Just got another 800 + acres of land to shoot over today. I have never bothered with a rotary before because most of my shooting has been a mixture of corvids pigeons and rabbits. with this new land it will be mainly pigeons, so thought i would give one ago. As i live a short car ride away i thought i would try out one of Shoot warehouses sillosocks rotary plus a couple of Hypa-flap decoys. Hopefully get in in early Feb' How does anyone who uses them find them please?
kdubya
Had one for a few years now its a good bit of kit, nice and light etc but bare in mind the arms are one piece and LONG to transport also in soft ground you do need tent pegs and guy ropes or it will rock itself to the point it topples, hard ground no need, plus if its to windy the arms bounce a lot,and of course it wont take real birds, I love mine but recognise it has it limitations IE in very strong winds its out with a conventional magnet and real birds, but if conditions allow the hypalite is my first choice, good bit of kit as per standard for the beasleys. Browning GTS
Thanks for reply, one of my next question would have been re real birds. Not a problem though because it saves having to shoot two or take a couple along.
stubby
I had one a while ago, blinding bit of kit, use a rod holdal bag to carry it in, inc the arms which made it easy to transport, I had the extra long spike on bottom (extra price) and never needed ropes or pegs, mine took both the hypa-flaps, or had cradles (extra price) to hold dead birds, always found the hypas better, as angling them on the arms, made it look like one was taking off, one was landing, many a time I nearly shot them
kdubya
Stubby not sure how you got away with using real birds I thought about it but felt the weight of them would be way to much for the motor and the arms, the arms bounce enogh with hypa's on, BGTS just so you can see how long the arms are this vid shows them well, cracking bit of kit designed purposely for hypa's,(another cracking bit of kit), oh and on soft ground I could not live without guy ropes and yes I have the extra spike, now if they were a bit cheaper I would add another to my kit inventory. cheers KW
Browning GTS
I am hoping to get over to see Will after the new year so will compare one of these against a normal magnet. But looking at the vid this looks like the one to go for even with the extra cost.
corvid wings
when it's to windy to use on the rotor put them on a bouncer or floater into the wind ,found them very affective ..
