Gimlet
I wouldn't use either. I'd flog the Simmons and go for something bigger and stronger mag than the S&B. Using a Nightmaster 800 with red LED I'm finding I use 10 power to ID out to 200+ yds. With less mag I find it harder to overcome the eye reflection and get a positive ID of the animal behind the eyes. A Meopta 3-12X56 or similar Leupold or a S/H Swarovski Z6 or S/H S&B perhaps. I know the Z6i has taken over from the old model but I can't say I've ever felt the need for an illuminated reticle using my Duralyt with the Nightmaster. I would have said get a Duralyt but I'm taking mine off my .222 because I don't like the 1/3 moa increments. To large for a 200 yd zero. Going to try a Meopta R1 I've got spare. A Z6 with adjustable parallax would be better still when funds allow.
al4x
I had a standard z6 gimlet and never got on with it missed a few foxes through loosing the cross hairs under the lamp. Not looked back since going illuminated with higher mag. But for not spending mega money you can't beat the Meoptas
