tomaddy525
Merry Christmas all, ive had a couple of these "ultimate pigeon decoys" on bouncer sticks, the foam wing and tail jobbies, and they look great but i havent really noticed much difference in the way the pigeons are acting. I have beel putting them in the middle-back of the horseshoe to look like they're about to land in the kill zone, but a couple of birds have started seeing the layout from a good distance, approaching with set wings, getting close to the ultimates and then scarpering. Where abouts in the pattern should i put them for best affect, i read somewhere about 100yards down field of the pattern?? Bear in mind that i have a flapper in the heart of the layout and no rotary. All help appreciated, thankyou!
ditchman
i cant advise you i can only tell you what i do...i use a simlar set up........i dont use a horse shoe pattern just a random scattering of birds some in pairs , then the flapper out to the right ..about 5-10 yds to the right of the pattern then the floater 20-25 yds to the right of that....this all depends on the wind direction......start watching how the birds move, it is highly unlikely that you will ever see a pigeon land in the midst of a group of birds.. so the movement needs to be on the outside of the group, birds joining the group will always land on the outside of the group and work their way to the group regards ditchman
alros01
Hi I use fud decoys and I put my floaters a good 70 to 80 yards out they work better with a bit of wind for good movement but I've watched the pigeons in the distance turn and come over the top of the floaters and strait into the decoy pattern hope this helps
